According to a report from the Vanguard, a 45 year
old farmer, John Ogunji, has allegedly killed his wife, Christianah Ogunji, in
Okitipupa, Ondo state after an argument over sharing of
a bag of garri. The problem
is said to have started when the farmer that the bag of garri be shared equally
between the couple. The wife allegedly did not accept the idea. Her alleged effrontery
to snub the husband led to a hot argument that later resulted in a free for
all. And her continued insistence that it was improper for a couple to separate
the food in the house irked the husband who subsequently hit her on the head
with a plank.
Vanguard further reports that the deceased died before
she was rushed the hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the Police have confirmed
that the suspect was arrested and has been transferred to the criminal
investigative department in Akure for further investigation and that the
suspect would soon be charged to court after the investigation have been
completed.
