BANK MANAGER COMMITS SUICIDE IN
OGUN STATE
The police detectives attached to
Ibafo Divisional Headquarters led by the Divisional police Officer, CSP Salawu
Jimoh, have discovered the body of one Mr. Habeeb Olatunde, 44, from Kwara
State. Until his death, he worked as a manager in one of the commercial banks
and had been declared missing by the police following reports of his
disappearance by his family since June 18, 2014.
His dangling body was discovered
in an uncompleted building at Arepo, near Ibafo, last Staturday, reported the
News Agency of Nigeria {NAN}. The decomposing body was found hanging in the
building when the police detectives found him.
Preliminary investigation revealed
that the top bank official committed suicide by hanging. The police command had
circulated the news of a missing man at the Ibafo Division of the Ogun state
police command on June 19, 2014 and the men of the force intensified efforts to
find him.
The frantic search yielded fruit
last Saturday when his body was discovered with the help of members of the
community. Prior to his disappearance, it was revealed that the deceased
actually complained of stress in the office and was given permission to take
some days off. He was believed to have committed the suicide while he was on
the casual leave. His corpse has been
released to his family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites as no mark
of violence was seen on the body and no foul play suspected. No suicide note
was dropped either; Thisday reports.
