JOSEPH YOBO ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT AFTER WORLD CUP EXIT
After reaching his record 100th cap for
Nigeria, Super eagles captain Joseph Yobo announced after the 2-0 loss to
France that he is calling it ‘quit’ on his international career to focus on his
family and club football. The 33 year
old who made his debut for Nigeria in 2001, became the first Nigerian ever to
have played 100 international matches. However, he marked his 100th
cap with an own goal against the Les Bleus of France as Nigeria got eliminated
from the world cup.
