Justice Ambros Namadi of the
Adamawa state High court sitting in Yola, yesterday restrained the state house
from serving impeachment notice on Governor Murtala Nyako and his deputy, Bala
Ngilari. The court also prevented the legislators from proceeding with the
impeachment process against Nyako pending the determination of a motion on notice.
Nyako’s counsel Mr. Jerry Owen had filed a motion ex-parte on behalf of the
governor, asking the court to stop the three respondents and their agents from
going ahead with the impeachment moves.
It will also interest you to know
that the judge who presided over this case is the acting chief judge of Adamawa
state.
THE QUESTION
Did governor Nyako make a political mistake to have
defected to the APC?
