10 things ladies do after a break-up
The love of your life just left you and all you want to do is curl up on your bed to think of the good times you shared, get a big bowl of blue bunny ice cream, watch ‘A Walk To Remember’ for the 100th time and cry your eyeballs out. Meanwhile, on the other hand, for some people, it’s more like they just won the lottery, FREEDOM!! Yes! I know you totally know where I am going with this. This article is to give a little insight on the cute and funny things ladies do after break up.
Chinenye Ugonna
1. DELETE HIS NUMBER: This is always the first move. As soon as the guy breaks their heart, the next thing is to delete his number. But you know what’s annoying about this? It doesn’t change anything because we still have the ex’s phone number stored up in our brains. Ask them in five years, they still remember!
2. THEY BECOME RELATIONSHIP EXPERTS: I know most people can relate to this. We all have that friend who had a bad break up and next thing, she thinks she has a BSc in dating. Relationships become her favourite topic. She suddenly wants to give relationship advice at the slightest chance, even if hers did not work. She knows how not to date a guy.
3. BECOME BORN AGAIN: When a guy whom they loved so much breaks their hearts, next thing is church. They forgot God was their companion before the break up, but as soon as the break up happens, they have the front row in church, their voices would be the loudest during service and would go to church 10 times a day if they have to. Some Muslims even start wearing hijab. But as soon as they find love again, it’s back to square one. Thank God our God is a Merciful One!
4. TEAM SINGLE AND LOVING IT: Ladies always have a sense of empowerment after a bad break-up. You start to see things like, #teamsingleandlovingit, #teamsingleforever etc even though we are dying inside. We suddenly have our little NGOs and become allergic to men. I pity some toasters during this period because they will smell pepper!
5. BINGE EATING AND DRINKING: It’s after a break up that we remember that food is our best friend. They would buy the big bowl of ice cream and the biggest bowl of KFC chicken, or even buy a bottle of alcohol and just drink to stupor. The truth of the matter is, it doesn’t make us feel any better but we do it anyway!
6. LISTEN TO DEPRESSING SONGS: They dig out Adele’s album or watch ‘A walk to remember’ and lay on their beds all day, crying their eyeballs out after every scene. We all know how depressing Adele’s ‘Someone like you’ is. Even when you are in the best relationship, that song just has a way of making you feel sad.
7. MOOD SWINGS: After a break up, everything reminds you of the ex. One second they are happy, the next you see the type of car your ex owns, or smell his cologne somewhere and they are sad. Most friends avoid these ones!
8. STALKING: This is a common factor amongst the ladies. After a bad break up, they would stalk their ex on Instagram, Facebook or even dial his number a couple of times with a strange number. Then when he says hello, they hang up or just remain silent. We know some of you are guilty. Women are the best CIA agents!
9. THEY NEVER SIT AT HOME: If you haven’t noticed this, when a girl is single, she never stays home. Even if she wants to, her friends will never let her. She would always want to go out and have
that fun she would never have had with her ex. It is always a plus when they know that their ex would be at the event. If their ex will be there, they would kak up (dress to kill) just to make sure he realises what he is missing. Besides, Mr. Right can be found anywhere.
10. ONTO THE NEXT ONE: Most of the time, they turn to good girl gone bad if they can’t handle themselves. Those toasters she kept on hold while she was dating become her besties and we all know the things that go along with that.
I’m sure once in your lifetime, you have done at least one of these listed above.

ARMY SENTENCE 12 SOLDIERS TO DEATH
A
military court martial sitting in Abuja on Monday found 13 out of the 18
soldiers standing trial for mutiny and other offences guilty. Twelve of the
convicted soldiers were sentenced to death; five were discharged and acquitted
while the remaining one was jailed for 28 days with hard labour.
You
may recall that the soldiers had on May 14, 2014 fired shots at the General
Officer Commanding the newly created 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major
Gen. Ahmed Mohamed, in Maiduguri. The act is viewed in the military as mutiny.
They
were found guilty of criminal conspiracy, mutiny, attempt to commit murder
{shooting of the vehicle of the GOC}; insubordination to a particular order;
insubordination and false accusation.
The
legal team of the convicts pleaded with the court martial to temper justice
with mercy. The team reeled out pathetic stories about the family backgrounds
of the convicted servicemen.
One
was said to be the only son of his octogenarian widowed mother. Another is the
father of a five-month-old baby. The defence team argued that giving them the
maximum sentence would do more harm than good, adding that it would increase
the agony of their dependents.
THE
QUESTION
What has the military done about the
Generals that have been alleged to be sponsoring Boko Haram?

7 THINGS POWERFUL PEOPLE DON'T DO
Powerful people live in a healthy way and courageously embrace challenges. They connect the dots of life to bring together purpose, partnership, and the power to inspire. Check out these things that powerful people don’t do so that you can become even more powerful.
1. They don’t give away their power by blaming other people
You don’t see powerful people waste time finger-pointing. Instead, they take things on, do their best, and let the chips fall where they may. Their energy is infectious and spreads as it lifts and elevates others with a buoying effect, as they’re willing to share a chapter of failure, knowing that it’s only part of the bigger story of success. They’re the first to dive in to change things for good, and the last to take credit for it. When things go wrong, you hear them say, “Got this!” Or just simply, “We’re good.”
2. They don’t let worry or fear of change stop them
Powerful people don’t complain about things they can’t control. They stick with what’s relevant: their influence. For them, change is something to be pursued and leveraged in the best way, as a crucial part of life. If they had a fear, it would only be to not change, to become stagnate.
3. They don’t put technology before people
Powerful people don’t obsess (much) about what the next text or call or email will bring, as they recognize the key to everything is the personal touch of relationships. In conversations, they stay engaged and authentic with everyone, knowing that their greatest influence is to be found in listening, sharing, and joining forces to innovate together. They put away their smartphone out of respect, but also out of right thinking, knowing the difference between when it’s time to be data smart and when it’s time to be emotionally savvy.
4. They don’t do things because everyone else is doing it
Know any imitators? Or, on the flip side, do you know people who do everything to be original to the extreme? Neither approach is best. Powerful people challenge the status quo in simple and potent ways, but don’t constantly broadcast it to the masses. They innovate life in ways that create a strong demand for their approach and brand, and even changes the world. A powerful person matches their aspirations with actions and is fearless in believing, behaving, and becoming different for the sake of bettering others’ lives. They have a healthy hatred of the status quo that assumes the good but embraces the great in others—without sacrificing their own unique, one-of-a-kind vision.
5. They don’t act like they’re always right
A powerful person won’t be heard saying “I told you so.” Instead, they create an environment where failure is not only accepted, but it’s the path to success. When failure strikes, as it often does, they convert it to fuel. And it powers them through criticism, obstacles, and even their own shortcomings. They’re okay with not knowing—it’s a go-to strategy, as they love surrounding themselves with other powerful people with diverse skills to achieve the impossible together.
6. They don’t work with a solo mindset
There’s strength in dedicating time to personal creativity, and it’s a key starting point for breakthrough thinking—but a powerful person takes things to the next level by partnering with others in new ways. They love their work, but they don’t let that stop them from embracing candid feedback. A powerful person is an open book and creates a refreshing environment of honesty everywhere they go. They speak respectfully of others, but don’t hold back on describing reality, or painting their inspired vision of the future. We’ve all known people who haven’t inspired us, right? A powerful person won’t mentally beat others into compliance, but rather inspires them to become more and achieve their full potential. They know it’s better to get to the top of the mountain and see fellow friends they’ve helped to become powerful rather than a bunch of people they’ve forced down on their way to success who’ll forever resent them for it.
7. They don’t ignore their well-being
Whether it’s eating the right foods, working out consistently, or getting the rest their body needs, powerful people are in it to win it today, tomorrow, and till the end. They know life is filled with careers, changes, and countless opportunities that require the best from their body.
What above stands out most to you? Is it unplugging from technology and being more present, becoming more inspired, and/or taking exercise to the next level? How will you become even more powerful today?

WHY STUDENTS FAIL WASSCE
We have all terminated our artful grieving over the ‘national tragedy’ which many fake tears label the mass failure of our children in the May/June 2014 West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, WASSCE.
The result was published last month. I am only open-mouthed that many are ‘wailing’ over the ‘death’ of our educational system as if it is a recent disaster. But what

IGBOS DEMAND LAGOS DEPUTY GOV SLOT
At
its maiden meeting during the weekend in Abuja, a coalition of Igbo leaders
from the 36 states of the federation and the FCT under the auspices of Goodluck
Gaa Niru 2015’ demanded the deputy governorship slot in the forth coming
gubernatorial elections in Lagos state, as a precondition to support the
ANOTHER DRAMA IN TARABA STATE AS SUNTAI RETURNS FROM UK MEDICAL TRIP
All
is now set for another drama to unfold in Taraba state as governor Danbaba
Suntai during the weekend returned from a medical trip to the United Kingdom.
Suntai, who suffered injuries from a plane crash in 2012, recently went to
London for a medical check following initial treatments received in Germany and
the United States.
Arriving
the Nnamdi Azikiwe’s airport, Abuja, Suntai was received by the former Governor
of the State, Rev. Jolly Nyame, federal and state lawmakers as well as several
other dignitaries. Speaking with journalists, the minister of Niger Delta,
Isiaka Darius, said the governor is in good health, adding that he could now
take over the responsibility of governing the state. “I am excited, he just
addressed us and expressed joy to be back home and will like to add that his
health nis a miracle” Darius said.
According
to Thisday, Suntai was taken to the guest house of General T.Y Danjuma from the
airport. Sources disclosed that although he was at the airport, the state’s
acting Governor Alhaji Garba Umar, was
prevented from seeing Suntai because of
what Suntai loyalists called his betrayal of their leader. There are feelers that he would have a
meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan as a prelude to his returning to
office. Suntai would leave for Jalingo, the state capital before the weekend, a
source told Thisday.
THE
QUESTION
If he is healthy, why did they prevent
him from having a long chat with the media, especially when questions were
thrown at him?

STAY AWAY FROM OUR SCHOOLS
While
laying the foundation stone for the construction of a federal junior model
secondary school at Ogu, in Ogu/Bolo Local government Area of the state, the
minister of state for education, Chief Nyesom Wike, stated that the federal
government would in the coming months intervene to uplift the physical
structures of some schools in the state. He named the schools to be
rehabilitated to include Community Secondary
School, Ubima {Governor Ameachi’s home town} and St. Aquinas Secondary school,
Elele both in IkwereLand and Birabi Memorial Secondary School, Bori in Ogoni
Land.
The
Rivers sate government reacted angrily to the move by the Federal Government to
renovate and build some state-owned Secondary Schools, stating that it would
resist any attempt by the federal government to corrupt the standard already
set by the state.
All
I can say to this is that the fight for the soul of Rivers state between Chief Nyesom Wike and Governor Rotimi Ameachi
has done more harm than good to Rivers state.
THE
QUESTION
Are there no Federal Government
Secondary Schools in Rivers state that need Renovation?
